Internationally renowned and Grammy-nominated a cappella ensemble SWEET HONEY IN THE ROCK® will unveil their most adventurous live presentation ever, when they perform a special tribute entitled,” SWEET HONEY IN THE ROCK: Remembering, Nina, Odetta, and Miriam,®” with a special salute to Abbey Lincoln,” as part of the Blue Note’s 30th Anniversary Jazz Festival. The ensemble’s three-day engagement at the prestigious Blue Note, December 12-14, 2011 is being presented by Jill Newman Productions. They will be performing two shows, at 8 PM and 10:30 PM each night.

Sweet Honey Takes Home the Gold
The Songwriter's Association of Washington (SAW), has honored Sweet Honey and Barry Eastmond with a Gold medal for their composition, "Are We A Nation?", in the organization's 2010 Mid-Atlantic Song contest.
"Are We A Nation?" was honored in the Rap/Urban/R&B category.
SAW was created in 1979 to strengthen the craft of songwriting, provide a forum for songwriters and their work, and celebrate the power of music.
Sweet Honey and Barry Eastmond created "Are We A Nation?" in response to the Arizona immigration law enacted last summer.

Sweet Honey Adds Her Voice to HBO Special
Sweet Honey In The Rock has composed a new song entitled "My Family" for the documentary A Family Is a Family Is a Family: A Rosie O'Donnell Celebration. This film will debut on HBO January 31 at 7pm EST.
The documentary looks at the diversity of today's families, highlighting same-sex parents, mixed-heritage families, single parents, and stories of adoption.
The film includes animated songs and musical performances by children and their families, as well as performances and recordings by Ziggy Marley, Bonnie Raitt, Doris Day, Sweet Honey, Frank Sinatra, and They Might Be Giants.
